Simulation Process

L3cities brings three-dimensional designs to life by populating them with synthetic inhabitants—making human behavior visible and allowing cities to be tested before they are built. We work directly with design teams through tools that integrate seamlessly into existing workflows.

CityDynamix for Rhino

Seamless Intelligence for Design Teams

Step 1: Programming Urban Data

CityDynamix™ is a Rhino3D plugin that enables architects and urban planners to embed land use, circulation, amenities, and asset information directly into their CAD models. Static designs become simulation-ready environments without disrupting the design process.

Modeling Diverse Lived Experience

Step 2: Development of digital personnas

L3cities has developed hundreds of detailed personas, each with their own daily diaries that capture how people of different ages, abilities, incomes, and household structures live, shop, interact, move, and experience environments. Each project is populated with a unique virtual community tailored to its context.

Modeling Human Dynamics

Step 3: Running the urban simulation

As virtual residents interact, work, learn, and travel through the city, the model captures complex human dynamics across time—morning to night, weekday to weekend, summer to winter. The result is not a static analysis, but a living rehearsal of urban life.
